SPECIAL CASH PRIZES FOR THE WINNING SCHOOLS TEAMS

The Maroubra & Districts Chamber of Commerce organises the annual Maroubra Fun Run and Spring Festival.  It is in its 25th year and is Maroubra’s best annual Family and Community Day.  Details and entry forms are available at www.MaroubraFunRun.com.au.  This event raises funds to support the South Maroubra SLSC, Lions Club of Maroubra and Rotary Club of Maroubra.

We are once again offering a special cash prize to the schools whose teams win the two School 4km run categories – Primary School and High School.  Teams must be students of the school only, with a designated leader and at least 3 members in the same event. Rankings will be determined by the sum of the 3 fastest times in each team.  We encourage the parents to create teams as well.

The prizes are for the school itself (e.g. the P&C Association), and not for the individual members of the winning teams.  The amount of the prize is calculated as the sum of $20 per team member.

The entry fee is $18 for students who are under 16 on race day and $35 for those 16 or older.  If the winning school team is comprised of 50 students, the total prize would be a total of $1,000 for the school.

We encourage as many students as possible to participate in the Fun Run and to stay on with their families for the Spring Festival entertainment and market.
